I have been using Yosemite for over a month. I had lots of trouble using GHC & cabal via Nix, but I now have it installed via Homebrew and it's working great. The downside was Homebrew didn't have a bottle for GHC when I installed it (does it now?) so I had to wait for it to compile. It took 111 minutes on my brand new, maxed out 13" MacBook Pro.
