You *should* be able to use password reset on GitLab in order to create a password and log in with it. Others have done this.

I turned off GitHub oauth because there was a deluge of spam accounts that were bypassing account approval by using it. I do want to turn it back on eventually, but we need to do some other work first to have better spam protection.

This mailing list is where I announced the change when it happened. I do wish I had a better way to reach active users who might run into this...

I last used gitlab.haskell.org in 2022 via OAuth on my GitHub account. However, this seems to no longer be an option. The account itself (https://gitlab.haskell.org/julianbrunner) seems to still exist, but I am unable to log in or request a password reset. I could not find any way to contact anyone on gitlab.haskell.org or any information on the removal of the OAuth option.
