Monday was something of a landmark, as the 500th Haskell package was added to the Arch Linux distribution. I've written about the approach we took to fully automating the construction of native packages from Hackage, http://cgi.cse.unsw.edu.au/~dons/blog/2008/08/21#the_500 As well as a survey of 10 cool packages that are a little unknown. And some fun stats. On Hackage we have: * 723 unique packages * Over a million lines of Haskell code * 2600 pages of API documentation And in Arch, there are: 6 Erlang packages 21 OCaml packages 28 Lisp packages 101 Ruby packages 495 Python packages and now, 504 Haskell packages :) -- Don
