CfP: Streaming Models of Parallel Processing
First Call for Papers IFIP International Workshop on Streaming Models of Parallel Processing September 20, 2007 Dalian, China In conjunction with IFIP International Conference on Network and Parallel Computing (NPC 2007) http://www.dlmu.edu.cn/npc2007/ Scope: Stream processing is a paradigm of parallel computing based on a communication graph connecting processing nodes, which are stream-to- stream, limited-memory functions. Applicability of stream processing goes far beyond its conventional areas of strength: signal processing and multimedia. Its wider adoption in areas such as scientific and Grid computing, distributed databases, security, etc., will depend on the progress in programming languages, optimisation methods and implementation techniques specifically targeting stream processing. This workshop is expected to bring together researchers from various topics of computer science: machine models and semantics, compilation technology, computer architecture, real-time computing, etc., as well as the areas of conventional and novel applications of stream processing, including but not limited to: signal processing, multimedia, databases, grand-challenge data processing, Grid computing, etc. In fact any significant contribution that uses a stream-processing approach is welcome, whether theoretical, experimental or practical in nature. The full versions of the accepted papers will be published by IEEE Computer Society prior to the workshop. The final paper should not exceed 8 pages in IEEE Computer society format. The final submission guidelines will be communicated later. The extended abstracts should not exceed 4 pages and must state the research question, briefly delineate the relevant state of the art and related work, and present the main results and conclusions. The papers will be selected on the basis of originality and significance of the results for various aspects of stream processing research.
