Yeh, I fixed it locally - I just wanted someone to fix the CVS version, because if I do as you say and then check in, I get two logical patches included in one single commit. It is easy to fix yourself, if you need to stay with CVS. Just delete the entire definition of 'findRootDir' in src/compiler98/OsOnly.hs.
