Looking at your config.log, this is exactly your problem. Do you have a /usr/include/GL/glut.h in Cygwin? Does something like #include int main () { glEnd(); return 0; } compile and link under Cygwin? Perhaps the GLUT stuff is in some "Graphics" package, but I can't remember... Cheers, S.
