Broken links for Netscape users

This is not really a hugs-bug, but I could not find out where else to send it: The links to the .msi files on http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/pages/downloading.htm are still broken for Mozilla-based (i.e. Mozilla :) browsers, though the note says they should be fixed. I suspect this is a CR/LF problem.

After downloading the OSX version, and typing "hugs" to start up the language, I obtain the following error: [schellekens:~] mpcs% hugs dyld: hugs can't open library: /usr/lib/libncurses.5.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2) Any suggestions? Michel.

Hi! When I tried to install install the new version I get the following message: /bin/cp: illegal option -- L Usage: cp [-f] [-i] [-p] f1 f2 cp [-f] [-i] [-p] f1 ... fn d1 cp -r|R [-f] [-i] [-p] d1 ... dn-1 dn make: *** [install_libraries] Error 2 I've never seen an L option for cp. Are we using an old version of it? Anyway. I edited the Makefile to remove the option. ffihugs, Storable.so

even if configure has "--enable-ffi", just issuing "make" doesn't build and/or install the ffihugs executable. furthermore, separately issuing "make ffihugs" is not sufficient either, and that shows up in some surprising places: $ hugs -98 Data.Array.IO ......... ERROR "/usr/local/src/hugs98/libraries/Hugs/Storable.hs" - Error while importing DLL "/usr/local/src/hugs98/libraries/Hugs/Storable.so": /usr/local/src/hugs98/libraries/Hugs/Storable.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory and indeed, "/usr/local/src/hugs98/libraries/Hugs/Storable.so" is not built.. I've checked docs/ffi-notes, but couldn't find anything relevant there; either that, or I'm totally confused.. somebody help me out.. -Levent.

Hi, some questions/remarks/bugs 1. Why is ffi disabled by default (./configure --enable-ffi is needed)? 2. If you install without ffi, there will be some header files in $(hugsdir)/libraries/. If you install with ffi, they will be removed. See install_libraries_ffi target in src/MkInstal.in. 3. ffi and ffi libs will be built by a install* target and not by a "build" target. IMO, it's much nicer to build everything by the default and ffi "build" target and install only by the install* targets. BTW, I am no auto{conf|make|...} crack, but on FreeBSD HAVE_LIMITS_H is not defined, but limits.h has to be included for building ffihugs without errors. Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to report an error that occured, while trying to install the hugs98 program in my computer. At about 90% of the installation, I got the error message: Internal Error 2203: C:\Winnt\Installer\32bb21.ipi, -2147287035 The same happened when I tried to run the Graphicslib.msi program. I suppose it has to do with the installer of my operating system. I'm having windows 2000 with service pack 3. I took a look on microsofts home page, searched for an update, but I found out, that it is not possible to install or update the installer with help of the program that is available on this page. Did someone report you this error? Can you suggest me a solution to this problem? Thank you very much for your time! Yours sincerelly, Hari Livas

An effect is that all executables which used 10.1 dynamic libraries now have to be recompiled so 10.2 dynamic libraries are (correctly) used. In other words, hugs has to be compiled specifically for 10.2. I do not know if the hugs download site already reflects this change, but you also can download a home brewn installation from http://www.cs.uu.nl/~atze/Download/HugsDec2001Installer-OSX10_2.dmg.gz. This version has been compiled with readline and a bit larger stack. Dear Sirs, I installed hugs for Mac OS X correctly with the Installer on my OS 10.1. On trying to run hugs at command-line, i got following message: ********* dyld: hugs can't open library: /usr/lib/libncurses.5.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2) ********* Where to get that library ?
