When I try to open Hugs for Windows 32, I get a Error message : Error - a closing quote ' " ' , was expected. Also, a box opens with : Fatal Error; Unable to open Prelude. Can you help me out.

I haven't heard anything back, but tar ztf hugs98-Nov2003.tar.gz | grep tests reports nothing. I don't want to mess with CVS, can someone fix the tar file? Thanks. problems building for AIX without gcc

In trying to build Hugs using <http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/downloads/Nov2003/hugs98-Nov2003.tar.gz> hugs98-Nov2003.tar.gz on an AIX machine without gcc, I get many errors. hugs on windows

hello, this is not a bug report, but more of a request. it seems that the binary distribution for windows is 8.5Mb, which seems huge. would it be possible to get a smaller (binary) version for windows? maybe without the GUI stuff etc? i know that in these days of fast networking that is not much of an issue but i only have a 28.8 internet connection at home. -iavor -- ================================================== | Iavor S. Undefined variable bug

error messages in Nov 2003 release

I'm not quite sure when it happened but error messages in the Nov 2003 release are much less informative than they used to be. In particular, I was hoping to see a line number and filename in this message. Program error: pattern match failure In contrast, ghci reports: *** Exception: gen_effect.hs:502: Non-exhaustive patterns in function writeResult I'm guessing that what's happened is we're using non-deterministic exceptions in more of Hugs and the error object created in response to a pattern match failure doesn't record the line number, etc. -- Alastair Reid haskell-consulting.com
