source-only release candidate

Several useful changes and fixes have accumulated since the last release (Nov 2003). To get these to a wider audience, I intend to do a source-only release soon. The first release candidate is at: http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/downloads/Sep2003/hugs98-Sep2003-rc1.tar.gz Instructions (after unpacking): cd hugs98-Sep2003/src/unix ./configure cd .. make LibStatus grep ERROR LibStatus This builds in-place. 'make install' installs in /usr/local; to install at home, add --prefix=$HOME to the configure line. Other configure options you might try are: --enable-hopengl include HOpenGL, a Haskell binding for OpenGL/GLUT --with-pthreads build Hugs using pthreads C library The old options --enable-readline and --enable-ffi are no longer needed. Runhugs command line options

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to specify the search path with runhugs command line options. Is there also a documentation on runhugs which can serve as a user manual. -- avik

another Hugs source snapshot

This is an appeal for another round of testing for the latest snapshot of Hugs: http://www.soi.city.ac.uk/~ross/hugs98-Sep2003.tar.gz (Unix only, unfortunately -- I don't know how to build on Windows -- but including MacOS X). running hugs interpreter on mac os x

To whom it may concern, I have installed your interpreter on my mac in anticipation of taking computer science courses at my college in a few weeks. I am having problems though because I cannot get the program to run. I have installed both packages from your download web site. Please help me figure this out, thankyou Joe LaVergne 3rd.

Does runhugs need a literate script?

Hello, the hugs manpage states: The runhugs command is an interpreter for an executable Hugs script, which must be a literate script containing a Haskell Main module. It is not my experience that runhugs only works with literate scripts. Is the manpage wrong here? Wolfgang

Hugs + emacs

Hi, I've recently started using emacs . I see that all the Prelude function definitions are identified properly by emacs but this is not the case with imported modules. So for example I've got a function foo :: a -> b in module "A" and i import A in module B, when I'm browsing module B, I don't see the signature of foo when i move cursor over foo. Has any body got .emacs configuration file which can do this?
