Hello, I write just to tell you that I succesfully compiled and got running Hugs on my Mac OS X system. I compiled the UNIX binaries following the short instructions and they worked like a charm with no problem. Just in case you don't know it works in Mac OS X as well. Has anyone managed to get readline working with Hugs on Mac OS X? I've downloaded and compiled readline, but hugs' ./configure can detect it, so hugs compiles without it despite my having specified --with-readline. I'm guessing it's some sort of library path thing. (I tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH.) Any thoughts? Thanks, ---Frank Seaton Taylor

A few years ago, I compiled Hugs under the Tenon Mach based BSD (UNIX) which runs under MacOS pre-X, and in those days Hugs also had X-Windows support, which also compiled without any problems. So if Hugs still has X-Windows support (I don't know), what you can do under MacOS X is to get hold of some of the X-windows available (there is one pricey commercial available by Tenon, and a public domain Free-BSD), and check if it compiles under those. (I do not have MacOS X, so I cannot do it.)
