Hugs and the new libs

I've got most of the hierarchical libraries working with Hugs. The main things missing are the new array stuff, Foreign (and things that need it) and the new Read implementation. To try it out: - get hugs98 and libraries from CVS. - recompile Hugs to get some recent bug fixes. - in hugs98/src/unix, run convert_libraries <directory where libraries lives> This will fill in hugs98/libraries with converted modules, and also create a directory hugs98/oldlib full of stubs for compatability with the old Hugs libraries. - Run hugs with hugs -P../../libraries:../../oldlib Some modules also need -98 The conversion script is an ugly kludge, but it mostly works.

I'm afraid the transformation from 8-spaces to tab is hard wired into the library. You can get the source and recompile it, but there's nothing you can do from 'outside'. It should probably be part of the rendering options. Pretty Printing Libraray Question

Hi, I am using the ghc-5.04 module Text.Pretty.HughesPJ (originally "Pretty" in the "text" package) to do some formatting. It works great, but has one small problem: the output always uses tab for 8 spaces. For example: d = text "abc" $+$ nest 8 (text "bcd") $+$ text "cde" s = render d will have a tab before "bcd", not 8 spaces. I have tested this on both Solaris 2.8 and Linux. Is there a way to change this behavior and make it use spaces always? I looked at the code but cannot find related information. Thanks!
