- when a Debian package of a compiler is upgraded, the Debian maintainer for that compiler also performs (preferably automatically) a non-maintainer upload for each library package, in which the only change is to the version number of that compiler that the library package depends on.
It's worth considering for the NMU to use the delayed queue (say 3 days). This would give the proper maintainer a chance to check things manually and make any updates needed. Obviously there's a balance to be struck between timely availability and reducing the changes of broken packages, so this is one variable that can be tweaked to get this balance right. Ganesh
