Hi,
Do the rest of the committee / folks on the list have any opinions either way on whether the stopgap measure should go into the next release? I'm fine either way, but my understanding is that more input is better when it comes to proposals effecting `base`.
I'll check back in two weeks from now and see if anyone has any additional thoughts / opinions / comments.
Can the committee give a thumbs up/down on this? The window for merging this to 8.2 is very nearly closed. Cheers, - Ben
