Not everyone gets the platform as a pre-built Windows installer you know ;-)
Also, don't forget the GHC now supports dynamic linking.
As far as I remember HLint also uses recent syntactic GHC extensions like view patterns. Thus it is GHC only. I don't know whether this is a problem for the Haskell Platform.
