Yes, that's what I had in mind. The calculation of other-modules would happen when .installed-pkg-info is generated.
I forgot extra-source-files, which is needed in the source system and has to include all the files not mentioned elsewhere that might be needed on any build system. Without other-modules you'd need it more often, and it would be harder to compute.
