Hmm. I guess this can't be determined at GHC's build time. What is this info used for?

I just mean that GHC's build system is going to have to cope with different versions of the Cabal package, independently of the GHC version installed. In the future, this will be the case for all packages that GHC depends on, too. Cheers, Simon
