compilation failure

I get a compilation failure with strange messages, as attached. Can you help? I can send source code if you want it. 1.10 build fails with ghc-5.02.1

Error building hmake-3.00 in RH Linux with ghc-5.02.2

Here's what I get by executing make after config (which terminates normally and states that it has detected by ghc compiler). make[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/hmake-3.00/src/hmake' make[1]: Nothing to be done for `install'. sh /tmp/hmake-3.00/targets/ix86-Linux/hmake3.config Fail: Can't find ghc includes at /imports Fail: Can't find ghc includes at /imports Usage: hmake-config [configfile] [add|delete|default] hc -- hc is name/path of a Haskell compiler make[1]: *** [config] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/hmake-3.00/src/hmake' make: *** [targets/ix86-Linux/hmake-ghc] Error 2 System is Debian/Linux, ghc 5.00.2. The only non-standard part of my system is modification of the package.conf file, but this configuration file has been working properly for some months. non-working RPM package

Hello, I downloaded nhc98-1.10-1.i386.rpm and tried to install it under Red Hat Linux 7.2. The first problem was that GnoRPM signaled a dependency problem - it said that nhc98-1.10-1.i386.rpm needs hmake. I ignored this and installed the package anyway. I started nhc98 which said that it couldn't find /usr/bin/harch and /usr/lib/nhc98//config. Wolfgang

Binary

When compiling the following program I get the following error messages. I can compile programs that just import and use Binary, but nothing that derives Binary. This is on nhc98 v1.08 (2001-09-25) [ config: ix86-Linux/ghc by malcolm(a)pc173.cs.york.ac.uk on 25 Sep 2001 ] using a binary tar file to install nhc. Am I using it correctly? CVS copy doesn't compile

hmake builds the wrong thing

This one had me puzzled for a few seconds before I spotted what was going on! $ rm foo*; touch foo.hs foo.lhs; hmake foo.lhs nhc98 -c -o foo.o foo.hs Warning: Can not find main in module Main. Thanks Ian

Incorrect type clash

With this module: data Foo = Foo Int Bar deriving Show data Bar = Bar Int Int deriving Show a `Foo` (b `Bar` c) = 3 `Foo` (4 `Bar` 5) I get Error after type deriving/checking: Type error type clash between Prelude.Int and Main.Foo when trying to apply function at 5:15 to its 1:st argument at 5:6. while GHC and hugs are happy. "import qualified IO (readFile)" gives IO.readFile not defined

Hi guys, With import qualified IO (readFile) I get Error when renaming:: Identifier IO.readFile used at 2:22 is not defined. I vaguely remember seeing something like this on one of the lists recently, but I can't find it now, so my apologies if this has already been reported. Thanks Ian
