[xmonad] darcs patch: rename xmonad.hs to config.hs, for HFS support
by Devin Mullins 13 Nov '07

13 Nov '07

There was talk of this, but I wasn't sure if the decision was to do this or add a '-i'. Consider this a reminder. Sun Nov 11 20:21:10 EST 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * rename xmonad.hs to config.hs, for HFS support

darcs patch: add configurable X Event handling (and 2 more)
by Devin Mullins 12 Nov '07

12 Nov '07

Amended with an eventHook -> eventHooks change. Sun Nov 11 17:46:16 EST 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * add configurable X Event handling Once this is committed, I'll port UrgencyHook to be an eventHook. I'm already in love, though: , eventHook = noFollow noFollow CrossingEvent {} = return False noFollow _ = return True Sun Nov 11 19:48:50 EST 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * fix processEvent for droundy's existential change Mon Nov 12 02:34:07 EST 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * change eventHook to eventHooks This way, composition is as simple as (:), and the general contract of filter chain halting is enforced by the definition of processEvent.

non-layout layouts
by Devin Mullins 12 Nov '07

12 Nov '07

In XMonadContrib, XMonad.Layout.*, suggest the following moves: LayoutModifier -> Util WindowNavigation -> Action WorkspaceDir -> Util Thoughts? Also, Util contains a mix of internal utils for contrib devs (Invisible, XUtils), and utils for end-users (Dmenu, EZConfig). Is this a problem?

darcs patch: clarify comment at top of Config.hs
by Devin Mullins 12 Nov '07

12 Nov '07

We'll have to remember to change xmonad.hs to config.hs in the comments, if/when that happens. Sun Nov 11 14:13:04 EST 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * clarify comment at top of Config.hs There appears to be some confusion -- several people have wanted to edit Config.hs as was done in the past. This comment probably won't stop that, but it's a start.

darcs patch: avoid Data.Ratio and % operator in XMonad.Config
by David Roundy 12 Nov '07

12 Nov '07

This was inspired by a difficulty I observed by a Haskell newbie trying to configure xmonad. No reason to import this % operator that I can see. David Sun Nov 11 10:37:08 PST 2007 David Roundy <droundy(a)darcs.net> * avoid Data.Ratio and % operator in XMonad.Config I think this'll make Config.hs more friendly as a template for folks to modify.
