I don't yet have a decent use for it, but a patch to XMonadContrib which fixes things to compile with this change will follow. Hi all, This change is independent of the change to delete. Together they make sticky windows (via the CopyWindow contrib module) work nicely with Xinerama. Without this change, a gap will be visible on one or more screens when a sticky window is present in workspaces present on multiple screens, which is not the end of the world, but is a bit ugly. With this change, each window is displayed on only one screen. Note that this is just an amend-recorded version of my earlier patch, fixed to work with the modified API. darcs patch: Docstring parser for generating xmonad build configs with default settings for extensions

This docstring system complements the existing $usage docstrings in xmonad extension sources by automating the manual configuration steps outlined therein. The aim is to make enabling and configuring multiple extensions at build-time more convenient, hopefully resulting in happier users and downstream packagers (like myself). It also happens to provide another method for testing extensions against API breakage. For each Haskell source file in an xmonad contrib directory, generate-configs.sh parses custom docstring markup containing default configuration and build-time settings for the extension. This is similar to Haddock, but rather than producing documentation the script makes modified copies of xmonad's Config.hs and xmonad.cabal files into which the parsed tag content is inserted at specified markers. By default the data inserted into Config.hs is commented out, though generate-configs.sh can be easily modified to behave otherwise. Each group of tag data inserted at each Config.sh marker is labeled with the extension that data was sourced from. The docstring markup can be extended as needed. mouse keys?

This is maybe not strictly an xmonad question, but maybe xmonad can be part of the solution... (I'm running xmonad-darcs) X has this concept of "mouse keys" that allow to move the mouse-cursor around with the keyboard. Unfortunately, they need to be enabled before they will work, even though I set xmodmap to make (mod?)-right-arrow move the cursor right! This can be done by pressing some weird key combination, which I have not figured out how to do reliably, and don't want to do that every time anyway. Apparently environments I don't use, like KDE, have ways to turn it on. Also there are some default keybindings for it that I would need to get rid of somehow, which doesn't look really easy. Ideally I wound like to add xmonad-mod-key + various other keys = control the cursor in various ways (including left,(middle,right)-clicking, would be nice) . Any ideas how to do this? (motivation: Compared to the keyboard, I don't like the trackpad on my laptop, as expected, and was never much of a fan of the mouse either, and never did get a trackball... but some programs need mouse-pointing! :) Speaking of which, I want to turn off tap-on-trackpad = click, and make it so that for a few moments near when I'm typing, the trackpad doesn't move the cursor either, but I haven't yet found ways to do these on Linux that I've gotten to work. I'm tempted to totally disable the trackpad if I can, if I get mouse keys to work well for me) Isaac

A bugfix for Spiral.hs. The earlier change to spiralWithDir didn't account for Expand / Shrink window resizes. This patch fixes that.
