Issue 222: Firefox 3 breaks with "Open new windows in new tab" http://code.google.com/p/xmonad/issues/detail?id=222 Comment #1 by SpencerJanssen: This is not an xmonad bug, it is a violation of the ICCCM by Firefox: "Clients must be aware that there is no guarantee that the window manager will allocate them the requested size or location and must be prepared to deal with any size and location." Firefox assumes that the resize request will be honored, and gets rather confused when it isn't. As a workaround, try manually resizing the firefox window with the mouse, then re-tiling it. Issue 222: Firefox 3 breaks with "Open new windows in new tab" http://code.google.com/p/xmonad/issues/detail?id=222 New issue report by deniz.a.m.dogan: What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Edit -> Preferences -> Tabs -> "New pages should be opened in: a new tab" 2. Go to www.livescore.com. 3. Click on an active/completed game to see the details. 4. Watch as Firefox breaks with XMonad. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect it to not break. It breaks. I think this is because LiveScore on one hands tries to force the window size of the new page (because it is normally a small popup window), but as Firefox makes it a new tab, something goes wrong on either the side of Firefox or XMonad. I'm not sure which, really. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? darcs version. Please provide any additional information below.
