Note that XMonad.Config.Arossato is not a complete config, and so it needed some tweaks; with a main function, this should not be a problem. Search in prompt history?

Hi all, I'm new xmonad user (been using it for 2 months) and one feature I am missing is searching in the prompt history. I use various prompts like Man, Ssh, Shell and Window and in addition to going through the history line by line I would like to be able to type a few characters, press some key (e.g. Ctrl+Up) and the prompt would seek to the first such occurence in the prompt history. For those of you who know ion, that is it[*] Is it possible in xmonad? As I am not a programmer, I just craft my xmonad.hs by copying parts of setup I find on the internet without really understanding them - either they work or they don't. So far I did not find anything resembling this functionality. I briefly tried Awesome, which was lacking some of the features (e.g. scratchpad) and that lead me to xmonad because its defaults suit me better.

Except for SIGCHLD, signals set to be ignored (SIG_IGN) by the calling process image shall be set to be ignored by the new process image. Signals set to be caught by the calling process image shall be set to the default action in the new process image (see <signal.h>). Then SIGPIPE should be handled (and do nothing) instead of ignored. Ignored signals are inherited by child processes which may break if they rely on the default behaiviour of a SIGPIPE signal. adding an existing workspace with DynamicWorkspaces?

Hi all, Today, while helping crhalpin in #xmonad, I discovered that if you call X.A.DynamicWorkspaces.addWorkspace with the name of an already-existing workspace, it simply makes another one, which seems... odd. Does anyone actually rely on this behavior? Or is it OK if I fix it so that calling addWorkspace with the name of a workspace that already exists is a no-op? -Brent

Hi folks, Does anyone use Google Chrome? I'm using it mainly because the trading app I use (igmarkets) is written entirely in Javascript and Firefox isn't doing a good job at it. I'm using ver. 4.0.237.0 of Chrome. Any experiences? I like being able to put two charts to the left of the screen and the main window to the right. —Mohamed

XMonad 0.9 on Ubuntu Karmic

For anyone who wants XMonad 0.9 on Ubuntu Karmic and wants to avoid cabal install, I've conveniently put the package from debian sid on my [Personal Package Archive], on launchpad. I've also made a relatively useless [blog post] about it. To get it, do the following: $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:justinbogner/ppa $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install xmonad libghc6-xmonad-dev libghc6-xmonad-contrib-dev unreleased dzen2 from SVN with clickable areas is also packaged up in there.
