Launch terminal 2. Launch another program using Mod-S-p 3. Try to switch window focus using M-S-j What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Window should switch focus. Window does not switch focus. Need to use mouse to regain control of focus. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? xmonad 0.10. Ubuntu Precise. Are you using an xmonad.hs? Please attach it and the output of "xmonad --recompile". No output of xmonad --recompile. File is attached. Please provide any additional information below. Perhaps xmonad (and the modified layout) focus should be modified only when focus goes to tiled due to a window disappearing, and for crossing events: (CrossingEvent {ev_window=w, ev_event_type=t, ev_mode=m}) | t == enterNotify, m == notifyNormal = Modifying xmonad focus from a layout is tricky, since it's difficult to know that infinite loops of refreshing can not occur. Splitting it up as layout and eventHook may be simpler.

Firefox and Opera windows

I have a problem with Firefox and Opera windows. Both seem to move or resize or readjust in a way I haven't figured out yet when switching to the tag where either is the only window. I've configured a manageHook to doFullFloat on isFullScreen and doFloat on many Firefox sub-windows/sub-dialogs which seems not transient (addons settings, etc., bookmarks). No manageHook for Opera. Firefox is Linux nightly. Opera is Linux 12.00. When I use a different then Unix style in Opera and make it maximized by pressing the button in the title bar it always unmaximizes anytime I change back to the tag with only Opera in it. To remove borders in fullscreen mode I've applied smartBorders to the layout. layoutHook = smartBorders (avoidStruts $ layoutHook defaultConfig) Chromium doesn't seem to have this problem. Any idea what's going on?

I failed to make Layout.FloatSnap work so that when I move windows with the moves they snap to the tag's borders. Does anyone have the required sample config available? Couldn't find it.

Hello, please find attached the following patch. I have a question in case it gets applied. I'd like to improve the mode to search for files (locate isn't fast/good enough). So far I thought of tracker [0] and recollq [1] but as noted none seemed 100% right. lockup when starting gvim in terminal

If I start gvim (GUI version of vim) in a terminal I get an error message and gvim locks up. The message is: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- E852: The child process failed to start the GUI[xcb] Unknown sequence number while processing queue [xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not been called [xcb] Aborting, sorry about that. gvim: ../../src/xcb_io.c:273: poll_for_event: Assertion `!xcb_xlib_threads_sequence_lost' failed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can prevent it from happening, either by starting gvim with dmenu or by doing "gvim &" in a terminal. I think gvim normally starts as a child process from a terminal. Is this a bug? Opening (so far) any gtk application's open dialog (file > open), and the dialog will not render, as if it were an invisible window. The proof of its existence lies in how it steals focus from its parent window and how the cursor changes when on top of it. When I move the dialog window, it appears and I can interact with it normally from there on out. This has happened with chromium, firefox, openoffice, and gvbam. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? See above. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.9 on archlinux Are you using an xmonad.hs? A keybinding to (0, xK_plus) doesn't work What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Instead you have to bind to: (shiftMask, xK_equal) Maybe doing this correctly regardless of the keymap isn't possible, but perhaps a reasonable approximation can be done like this: * if the keymap contains 'unreachable keys' like "M-+", grab "M-+" and "M-S-=" * if we actually get a "M-+", ungrab the "M-S-=", and run the normal action for "M-+" This can be done with a handleEventHook outside of core, but for users, the current workaround is probably easier having an optional handleEventHook to EZConfig (note how uncommon the use of the optional startupHook from that module is). -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
