The minimal xmonad.hs has error

My xmonad.hs: import XMonad main = xmonad defaultConfig { modMask = mod4Mask , terminal = "xterm" } but after restart xmonad I get the following error message Error detected while loading xmonad configuration file: /home/yuliang/.xmonad/xmonad.hs xmonad.hs:1:7: Could not find module `XMonad': it is a member of the hidden package `xmonad-0.9' Use -v to see a list of the files searched for. Mouse pointer: Always there?

Is there a way to let the mouse pointer disappear after a few seconds of not using the mouse und let it reappear again, when the mouse is beeing used? Ralph

windows not active when using ssh -X

I use ssh -X to our department server and start MATLAB. MATLAB started but the window is blank, only the menu is active. In gnome there is no such problem. -- Sincerely, Yuliang Wang

broken windows border when display is in portrait mode

I use two monitors both in portrait mode. The border of windows are broken, no matter how wide the border is. It is fine if my monitors are set in landscape mode. Maybe the darcs version fixed this bug? -- Sincerely, Yuliang Wang

Floating windows and decorations

When I use SimplestFloat and window decorations (either TabBarDecoration or NoFrillsDecoration) and then I resize a window, the decoration for that window vanishes. Is there any way to get it back or to keep that from happening? Thanks! --Omari

Can't view youtube video full screen!

If I click the full screen button on youtube, the video pops up to a new tiling window, but if I press Alt+Space to change the layout so that the video window becomes full screen, the window closes instead. -- Sincerely, Yuliang Wang

Changing workspace using the mouse

I'm interested in using the mouse to navigate between windows, while retaining the benefits of tiled window management (I hate resizing windows by hand). Xmonad already lets me change the focus within a workspace with the mouse. Is there any way (possibly using an extension or by interaction with an external tool) to use the mouse to switch workspaces? How about rearranging windows within a (tiled) workspace? I haven't found anything relevant in the documentation or the list archives, but I might not be searching for the right thing. If no such capability currently exists, do you have any tips on where I should start if I want to try writing my own? Thanks, -- Ian Leroux

new contrib module: XMonad.Actions.DynamicWorkspaceOrder

Hi all, I've pushed a new contrib module which uses extensible state to keep track of a current workspace ordering, with a way to swap two workspaces, and ways to get DynamicLog and CycleWS to use the current workspace ordering instead of the order of workspaces in the user's config. This way I can reorder my workspaces any way I like on-the-fly, have them show up in that order in my status bar, and cycle through them in that order with CycleWS-like keybindings. -Brent
