Compile error: How to find problem in environment?

On my MacOSX box, compiling xmonad fails with the following error message. On my Debian etch box, it works fine. Comparing ghc-pkg output, I note that the OSX box has more packages, and some in more recent versions, than etch. But I have no idea where to start looking for the problems. Below, please find (1) ghc-pkg list output for etch, (2) ghc-pkg list output for OSX, (3) build output for OSX. Statusbar gadgets: cpubar

Hi. Just in case anyone is interested here is another gadget for your dzen statusbar, a cpu usage meter. It was designed to work with Linux and relies on the existance of "/proc/stat". (e.g, SDL_SetVideoMode() without SDL_RESIZABLE in the flags) What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The fixed-size window is subsumed into whatever the current layout is; i.e, its size request is not obeyed and chances are the program now clips weirdly (or crashes, depending). Windows created with a fixed size ought to be floated automatically. Dwm does this. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? HEAD. Debian linux. named workspaces, tags and sticky windows

Hi, I have several related questions regarding named workspaces: Dumb question first: how do I name a workspace? It seems to be possible according to this screenshot: http://www.xmonad.org/images/screen-rob-circle.png but I can't figure out how it's done... I like the way wmii generalized the workspace concept with tagging - is there any plan to support such a scheme? Can this be done with a contrib module? (note that in wmii a window with several tags may have different size/position in each tag-workspace to which it belongs). I'm guessing that this requires changes to the xmonad core - is this correct? In the meantime - is there a way to get a window to appear (possibly floating) on several or all workspaces (again: can this be done with a contrib module)? (I'm looking for a way to make a window "sticky" *and* "managed" - unlike dzen which is in the unmanaged border). Cheers, Avi.

Hi all, Here's Andrea's patch together with one of mine to shrink our window titles so that they can fit in the tabs. I made the shrinker extensible, so users can configure it to eliminate whatever seems irrelevant in their window names. this fixes some of the Tabbed layout issues. It is now possible to set fonts. Hey all, I've moved to urxvt recently but noticed that the antialiased fonts seem a bit fuzzy. I'm assuming this is down to my font choice, so as a nice piece of off-topic posting, what fonts do people find work well in urxvt ? Cheers Dave

This is an amend-recorded version, which fixes a conflict with the recent haddock changes in StackSet. This change also removes the barely used 'size' field, and replaces it with a tagMember predicate. The idea is to move towards the ability to make the workspace tag be a String, which by default might be "1".."9", but could also be customized to be something meaningful to the user.

I know that you are going to think I'm crazy, but I wanted to have package name and description in the front page, and there they are: http://gorgias.mine.nu/xmonad/ In order to get there I had to dig into cabal (interesting though): I came out with this haddock hook, based on the original one. Basically: cabal/haddock uses package description and title (from xmonad.cabal) only when building libraries (I think it is supposed to be a feature). I though that probably XMonad can be both: you are changing the way people think, after all!
