thanks to everyone on this list and in #haskell who assisted me with freebsd build issues. the combination of an updated Cabal library, and X11-extras-0.1 fixed my issues. i am now using xmonad at home, work, and on my laptop (all running freebsd6.2).

as a feature request, it would be nice to pre-assign workspaces to application names in Config.hs. i don't see the need to be too dogmatic about copying dwm, but this is one feature i like.

Possibly you could hack this up in Config.hs, (basically, check the application name, and assign it to a certain workspace). Its not a priority yet for us though. -- Don
