As a counterexample, last I checked Pine did copy in a default config.
So I'm open to the idea, but need a good story for how to avoid *requiring* ghc at runtime. At the moment, as soon as you create a config file, xmonad will try to compile it. If you never customise xmonad, then that runtime dependency isn't required. But maybe that doesn't matter? -- Don
