[Xmonad] xmonad in Ubuntu

Hi, Does anyone tried xmonad in Ubuntu? Do you have a guide on how to try it without having problems that can be solved by just going back to metacity? I understand nothing about X configuration files, and I would like not to mess with anything that could break the default system. Should I wait (maybe, for an Ubuntu package)? Can I try xmonad now?
