Hi Alexander, this is a problem that is not related to xmonad, but it is an issue with slock itself. Have a look here: http://www.suckless.org/pipermail/dwm/2007-June/002876.html As you see it is suggested to use some other alternatives till slock will get fixed.[1] Hope this helps.
