[Xmonad] darcs patch: Add functions to draw text in the user's... (and 1 more)

Hi, this is a patch for X11-extras to add some functions needed by XPrompt to support internationalization. As you see the main work to get i18n working has been done by Mats. Thanks to his code I was able to grasp the basics of i18n in Xlib.
