New layout Patch (Cross)

Hello, I just added a new layout, with a main window in the center of the screen and the rest on the sides of main window, as a cross configuration. It's similar layout to Circle, but in Cross the focused window always is on top and in the center. -- LC, ("Gravity is a habit that is hard to shake off." - Terry Prachett)

Hello,
I just added a new layout, with a main window in the center of the screen and the rest on the sides of main window, as a cross configuration. It's similar layout to Circle, but in Cross the focused window always is on top and in the center.
Wouldn't it be better to merge it with Circle layout, for their similarity? (I mean, place them into the one module.) -- Roman I. Cheplyaka (aka Feuerbach @ IRC) http://ro-che.info/docs/xmonad.hs

Well, I'll check if it make sense. Maybe it's because Circle and Cross only
change the behaviour of focused window.

Hi, this patch causes a Haddock error, did you suppress the darcs tests when recording it? XMonad/Layout/Cross.hs:53:4: parse error on input `!' Please send a patch to fix this. Cheers, Spencer Janssen

I remove test because I suposse my haddock has a bad configuration.
I remove comments on the error line and the error is related to another
different version:
dist/build/tmp/./XMonad/Layout/HintedTile.hs:"dist/build/tmp/./XMonad/Layout/HintedTile.hs":
56:5: parse error in doc string: [haddock: Internal Happy error
I have versions:
$ haddock --version
Haddock version 0.8, (c) Simon Marlow 2006
$ ghc --version
The Glorious Glasgow Haskell Compilation System, version 6.8.2
Someone has any idea was the problem is?

Your haddock version is too old. It should work if you upgrade to 2.4.1, which is the newest released version.

I updated to Haddock 2.4.1 (from hackage, configure, build & install).
But I getting something strange. If I remove all the comments on the
file i getting the error:
haddock: internal Haddock or GHC error: No libdir found
But with comments, I also getting the :
XMonad/Layout/Cross.hs:53:4: parse error on input `!'
haddock: Failed to check module: XMonad.Layout.Cross
And If I remove the comments on line 53 data I also get:
haddock: internal Haddock or GHC error: No libdir found
I don't know where the problem is. anything has the same problem before?

Luis, look at the patch I''ve sent few minutes ago. Sereven helped me
with that topic, Haddock doesn't like ! and docstrings in the same
line.
byebye!

Please don't ever do this. If you have problems getting something to compile, you can always ask for help in #xmonad, or on this list. I have just pushed a patch fixing the error. -Brent

Thanks Brent. Yes, the tests exist for a purpose : to not waste developer time with broken code being distributed to others. You should never send in a patch that breaks the tests, since if it breaks for you, it will break for everyone. -- Don

I apologized for it. I promise don't do it again because you are rigth its a problem for everyone. And thanks for the patch. -- LC, ("Gravity is a habit that is hard to shake off." - Terry Prachett)
