Even though the interactions of modifiers could be quite complicated to be tracked down. Anyway I'd like to have more information and see if there's a bug we can try to solve. Can you give me some instructions to reproduce your problem? Did you try using the WindowArranger to resize "difficult" windows? You can try it with: (decoration shrinkText defaultTheme Tabbed (windowArrange Simplest)) then you need the key bindings to send the appropriate messages to the windows (see XMonad.Config.Arossato for some example, or the module doc).
