Sometimes you just don't want to use XMonad for whatever reason (perhaps you are waiting for a fix to some problem involving oddball stuff like Windows programs under WINE). Then it'd be good to have the option to temporarily or permanently switch window manager. WM is the path to the new window manager. This command is useful when you want to temporarily take a look at another window manager, or program under a different window manager, but you want to come back to ratpoison when you've finished your investigation. newwm window-manager Command' This are pretty self-explanatory, and I suspect easy to write an extension for. 'newwm' could probably just be a wrapper around exec, even.
