Comment #1 on issue 264 by jus...@justinbogner.com: -no-recomp became -fforce-recomp http://code.google.com/p/xmonad/issues/detail?id=264 I don't think such a change would be dropping support for 6.8, since -no-recomp isn't documented in 6.8's man page, but -fforce-recomp and -fforce-no-recomp are.
