I think that sending a Hide to the hidden layout should be just fine.
Anyway, the best thing I can do is start porting other combinators and
see if the class actually fulfills a layout combinator semantics.
Any idea appreciated!

well, I have an idea. Since you are developing a class, why don't you just create a method (handleTheOther)? just my 2 cents... andrea
