Issue 279 in xmonad: Some GTK2 apps crash X when XMonad's stderr is not redirected to /dev/null

Comment #8 on issue 279 by seschwar: Some GTK2 apps crash X when XMonad's stderr is not redirected to /dev/null http://code.google.com/p/xmonad/issues/detail?id=279 I get your point about preventing apps to write to dead file descriptors not being XMonad's job. If I start X in the way I described I should somehow prevent this myself. However I think the behaviour of XMonad is still not optimal since it shouldn't crash if an application attempts that. Or at least it shouldn't do so silently. It could leave a message in xmonad.errors. Wasn't there a thread about unifiying error logging on the mailing list lately? I can't seem to find it. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
