Hy, is there a possibility to make a whole workspace floating? Ion3 got this feature of a "floating workspace" where you can put applications which dont work well if their sizehints are not taken into account. I got one aplication which leads into many problems if run in a tiled-mode. Is there a Layoutmanager which makes all windows floating from start, so that every window gets its size? Not yet. I'm also coming to thing that there isn't actually a real pressure to have it, even though it is something we know we must implement somehow sometime....;) Take also into account that we have a floating layer, and manageHook is a really powerful tool to achieve most of the functionality you need with a floating layout. BTW, a floating layout patch had been submitted some time ago, I remember I tried it out a bit. You could check in the ML archive. If you feel like, I think that this could be a good hacking project. Nested stacks are also a step in that direction too. You should check some of David Roundy's past messages on the subject. Andrea
