Status: New Owner: ---- New issue 513 by t...@takeontom.com: 'Failed to load session "xmonad"' error after selecting "GNOME with Xmonad" option in lightdm on Quantel beta http://code.google.com/p/xmonad/issues/detail?id=513 Note: this is similar to bug #512 and might/probably be the same underlying issue, but is arrived at in a different way and results in a different error Note: Have also added this bug to launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xmonad/+bug/1047794 On a fairly virgin install of the Quantel beta: $ sudo apt-get install xmonad reboot select "GNOME with Xmonad" from lightdm attempt to login the screen redraws, sometimes to a blank screen, sometimes to the lightdm screen. the error 'Failed to load session "xmonad"' is displayed on a popup. pressing OK on the popup takes me back to lightdm. The above instructions on how to replicate the bug should work for anyone however. Can someone else have a crack at providing the files requested by Daniel please?

If you want help fixing the misconfiguration, we'll try, but only if you stick around long enough to receive our help.

Figured you guys would be doing all you can to get xmonad working seamlessly with the new Ubuntu? If I get access to a laptop I can wipe again, I'll get you the appropriate config and scripts, but it's doubtful I'll get the opportunity.

Especially if, as seems likely, this is an Ubuntu specific issue.

Over the weekend I was lucky enough to have access to some laptops which I could use for testing. I don't any more. I've let you know there's a problem and exactly how to reproduce it, so if down the line you do have some resources and if you choose to, you can look into the issue. There is nothing more I can or could have done. As I said, if I get some more laptops to test on, I'll reopen this issue and help you out as much as I can.

I attached the output of dpkg -L bluetile. If you require any other information I will try to provide it.
