Hi Isaac, Your message wasn't sent to the mailing list as well, just me, so I'm forwarding it. Gmail makes it pretty easy to figure out whats happening, but I still don't understand why :) If you can find any docs on mailman that should describe how/why things are working. Error Building on OS X

I just grabbed the sources from SVN today, and attempted to build. It failed with the attached errors. I was wondering if anyone else had successfully built under OS X? Bug Tracking

Hi, We are now using proper bug tracking: http://code.google.com/p/yhc/issues/list Can everyone please file all the bugs they run into, and we can work on eliminating them. Feel free to either report bugs to this mailing list or to the bug tracker (as you feel like), and if a bug remains unresolved for about a week someone will move it into the bug tracker. Also we are now at the stage where Yhc *should* just build (TM) for everyone, the steps to take are: darcs pull http://www.cs.york.ac.uk/fp/darcs/yhc-devel scons scons test (to run the test suite) If you don't get full success, complain. We have also got a lot of good buildbot stuff going, http://www.indiegigs.co.uk:8010/, so we won't break the build as much. If you want to be a buildbot slave, then email the list and we can sort that out. The more architectures the better, and it should keep your arch/platform alive for Yhc. btw, most of this work is thanks to Andrew, so thanks :) Neil

Can't compile

I am trying to build yhc from source but I get stuck at this error: gcc -Wall -I. -c -o src/runtime/BCKernel/pretty.o src/runtime/BCKernel/pretty.c In file included from src/runtime/BCKernel/types.h:5, from src/runtime/BCKernel/hashtable.h:4, from src/runtime/BCKernel/module.h:18, from src/runtime/BCKernel/pretty.c:1: src/runtime/BCKernel/platform.h:103:17: error: ffi.h: Arquivo ou diretório não encontrado (Last message means roughly 'ffi.h: File or directory not found') I got the source from the repo via darcs get and already tried to build both using scons and make. The message above was presented while trying to build via scons, but the make message is very similar. Is ffi.h some header file that I was supposed to have? This smells like my machine is somehow messed up. What should I check in my environment besides the dependencies outlined on the readme.txt? Thanks in advance, Thiago Arrais

GMP on Intel Macs

Hi all, I was investigating Yhc's use of the gmp library when I came across this message on the gmp website (http://www.swox.com/gmp/#STATUS) [2006-05-04] GMP does not build on MacInteltosh machines. No fix planned. I would assume Intel Macs are a target platform (indeed an Intel Mac is one of our four buildbot slaves) so I guess this is a problem. Further investigation reveals this thread ( http://swox.com/list-archives/gmp-bugs/2006-April/000317.html) on the gmp mailing list where a patch to work around a bug in Apple's ld is rejected by the developers. Anyone know any more about this, or have any suggestions? Andrew

What does Yhc need (error, ffi.h not found)

On IRC, ndm suggested that "libffi" was needed; after "emerge libffi" the error still happened -- so, me being on gentoo-linux ppc, ndm on Windows, referred me to this list. I'm trying to find out what is actually needed to successfully compile Yhc (now, for me, at least).
