Hi For reference, me and Tom both tried to fix this - removing the bootstrapping .hi files. It didn't work at all, the code is uber-ugly. This is probably an area of Yhc that needs ripping out and replacing. This is one of the things that will prevent us from going to binary .hi files, which would lead to a speed up. I suggest (1) add new code to the sources (2) add new type signatures to Prelude.hi in bootstrap/

That is, you need to augment the Prelude interface file manually.
