In any case, I don't remember having this problem on 10.4, but I had a different version of MacPorts running then also. The 10.5 version of MacPorts' GHC won't build on Leopard, either. Hopefully this should fix that. Pete

ranlib

The makefiles generated by cabal don't run ranlib on libraries. This is a big problem since GHC uses the makefile generator :) I've attached a patch that fixes things. I tested it by replacing the Cabal tree in a ghc snapshot; everything seems to build ok. Pete
