hackage trac

Hi all, A few IPs were hammering http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/hackage/wiki/HackageDB today which (is probably what) caused abbot to become inaccessible. /srv/trac/hackage/db/trac.db is 613MB, which seems rather suspicious: /srv/trac/ghc/db/trac.db is only 359MB. I wonder if it is full of spam? I'm also not able to load http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/hackage/wiki/HackageDB?action=history (it just times out). Could someone take a look please? Or perhaps the Cabal wiki should be moved elsewhere (github?) and the trac instance disabled? Thanks Ian

Newbie wants to add DLL creation support

Hi, I am a newbie to Haskell, and I want to try to add DLL creation support to Cabal. Where do I start? I have already made a DLL using ghc and and .bat files for use in trading. But the process is a bit tedious. The IRC people said, I should try to add DLL support into Cabal. Edwin

Ah, that should be fixed then. It shouldn't be too hard: the "ghc --info" output already includes e.g. ,("target os","OSLinux") and I'm pretty sure that Cabal already parses the --info output, so it should just be a case of using that value when evaluating the os(android) conditional. Ah, hmm, except OSLinux is a constructor of a type that is in the ghc package. Cabal has slightly different types in Distribution.System. Should we make a shared type, possibly in a new 'platform' package? Thanks Ian
