Fixed warning with the flag -fwarn-missing-import-lists.

Hi, Using the flag -fwarn-missing-import-lists with cabal-install the line import Data.Version (Version(..)) in the generated module Paths_xxx.hs yields a warning due to the use of the (..) form of import (see http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/4489 ). cabal-install version on hackage

Hello all, This is actually a question about hackage, but looks like there's no separate hackage mailing list. I'm suffering from the issue reported in here: http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/hackage/ticket/656. In brief, cabal had a bug that prevented it from running haddock successfully if a package contained both a library and an executable that depended on it. The good news is that the bug has been fixed, about 5 months ago in fact. Unfortunately, it looks like there hasn't been an official cabal-install release since. In any case, the version of cabal that hackage uses certainly does not have this fix included, hence packages that contain library+executable combos in the newer style fail to build on the hackage site. Is there a known workaround to this problem, short of dropping the "self" dependency in the cabal file? Would it be too much to ask if hackage can upgrade it's cabal? Would that break further things? Hi all, I've been working on the build system for wxhaskell, and ran in to a problem using "runProgram". Virtual packages

Hello folks, I was thinking a little about how build flags that modify functionality are harmful for dependency resolution (pandoc and xmobar, I'm glaring at you), but authors will still use this feature because it's a lot easier than maintaining a bunch of separate packages for each different flag. It suddenly struck me, then, that what we actually needed was a mechanism not unlike what you see in traditional package managers, where a single Cabal file can specify multiple packages. pandoc.cabal might define 'pandoc' and 'pandoc-highlighting', and pandoc-highlighting can have different build dependencies, modules, etc. Module writers still need to arrange their APIs so that the extra functionality should be separable, but I don't see this as being too much of a problem. Mix-and-matching flags can be achieved by simply picking the extra virtual models as dependencies as necessary. What do you think? Cheers, Edward
