[Hackage] #496: warning for non-existent flags for -f option
by Hackage 12 Feb '09

12 Feb '09

#496: warning for non-existent flags for -f option ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Reporter: Martijn | Owner: Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Cabal library | Version: 1.6.0.1 Severity: normal | Keywords: Difficulty: unknown | Ghcversion: Platform: | ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Maybe it's a good idea to let 'cabal configure' produce a warning when -f is used to pass a non-existent flag. Configuration problems are usually tricky to solve, and it helps a lot to know that a flag you intended to provide was not used because of a typo. -- Ticket URL: <http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/hackage/ticket/496> Hackage <http://haskell.org/cabal/> Hackage: Cabal and related projects

[Hackage] #495: feature request: top-level if statements
by Hackage 10 Feb '09

#495: feature request: top-level if statements ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Reporter: awick | Owner: Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Cabal library | Version: 1.6.0.1 Severity: normal | Keywords: Difficulty: unknown | Ghcversion: 6.10.1 Platform: | ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- It would be really, really handy for us to be able to use top-level if constructs, such as: {{{ if os(linux) executable run-tests main-is: ... ghc-options: ... if os(foo) executable program main-is: ... ghc-options: ... }}} (Specifically, we need it in cases like this, where tests run on a different OS than the code will be run on.) -- Ticket URL: <http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/hackage/ticket/495> Hackage <http://haskell.org/cabal/> Hackage: Cabal and related projects

Proxies
by Neil Mitchell 10 Feb '09

10 Feb '09

Hi, I know that Cabal is currently looking very seriously at proxies etc, but is there any way to override the proxies that Cabal uses on a temporary basis? Many work environments have a fairly complex proxy script that handles things like VPN correctly, and it would be nice to override the Cabal proxy settings without changing them in IE. Thanks Neil
