I'm not sure I see the difficulty - but I'll go ahead and make up my own solution (which will probably be much like what GreenCard does...)
What does GreenCard do?
It does its best to return to the read eval print loop. If that fails (hmmm, not sure I understand what would cause that failure), it calls exit. A bit more error reporting seems to be called for here... -- Alastair Reid reid@cs.utah.edu http://www.cs.utah.edu/~reid/
