I vote *accept*. It’s better to have a specification that works rather than one that gives rise to bugs we don’t know how to fix, and the evidence laid out in the proposal suggests that this would have minimal impact on the ecosystem. I recommend *acceptance*. The cost of trying to figure out how to support the current spec is not worth the fairly marginal gain over the proposed simplification.
