Compile up a copy of Happy from CVS to get the fix. Cheers, Simon

running 6.0 for Linux on Red Hat 9
by John Mann 06 Jun '03

06 Jun '03

Hello all. I would like to know whether I can use the following binary of the ghc compiler for Linux, listed on the Glasgow Haskell home page, on my Red Hat 9 Linux Pentium box which has glibc version 2.3.2; "Binary tar for Linux/x86 with glibc 2.2 (a complete build, including interactive system, profiling libraries and documentation): .tar.bz2 (12.7 Mb). This build was done on a RedHat 7.2 box." Will there be an incompatibility with the glibc 2.2 used for the build? If so, what's the next best way to get ghc installed? Thanks in advance. Incorrect Mime Type for Mac OS Package
by Wolfgang Thaller 04 Jun '03

04 Jun '03

Hi, The Haskell Web Server claims that the .dmg file for the MacOS Package is of type "text/plain"; some browsers on MacOS (IE and Netscape) therefore try to display it as plain text instead of downloading it. Is anyone able to fix that somehow? Cheers, Wolfgang

Standard module header > -- | > -- Module : module > module > > is the fully qualified module name of the module This haddock "Module" entry is annoying, since is may become inconsistent with the actual module name (following the Haskell keyword "module"). In fact I use: -- Module : $Header$ Cheers Christian

Hal - how did you build this distribution? Did you set 'BIN_DIST=1' in build.mk before building everything? I downloaded the package this afternoon after Simon's message so I assumed it was the latest (I also, rather cheekily, downloaded it from Hal's isi link posted today; it was a different binary file but exhibited exactly the same behaviour wrt non-default installation directories). Matt.
