Seems to be a recursive problem ... I thought I need hmake for building them. Or is there a way to do it without hmake? (But never mind, I think I can wait for the updated InstallShield.) For the meantime, are the HaXml tools' binaries for Win available for download somewhere? I want to use HaXml, and since hmake is required first, I'm currently trying to build hmake with GHC. Unfortunately "make" fails; I get the above errors message. What am I doing wrong here? I use GHC4.08.2 (InstallShield version) under WinNT4/Cygwin1.1.8. ghc & hdirect on windows

I am trying to install ghc and hdirect on windows. But I have failed miserably. Initially I was able to install and run ghc, but after failing to run hdirect examples i did some changes to environment settings, and now none of them work. I also tried reinstalling both. 1. If I do mount c: / then: ghc does not compile and finishes without any word. I have /usr/bin/bash.exe and /usr/bin/sh.exe. 2. If I do not mount c: / then: administrator@CF-POSTGRAD12 /cygdrive/c/ghc/ghc-4.08.1/bin $ls ghc ghc-4.08.1 hp2ps.exe perl.exe stat2resid administrator@CF-POSTGRAD12 /cygdrive/c/ghc/ghc-4.08.1/bin $ghc bash: ./ghc: No such file or directory In any case it does not run, Is there any other combinations :-( 1. I have copied the perl.exe that comes with ghc to /user/bin 2. I am using the right version of mingw. 3. I have set SHELL = /usr/bin/bash 4. I have scanned most of the mails in ths list. Please help. Compiling HDirect from CVS

Hi all. I'm having a lot of trouble building the latest version of HDirect from CVS. After setting up per the instructions, adjusting "mk/config.mk" to substitute mingw for cygwin (avoids problems about the Posix library) and then typing make at the top level of fptools I get the link error below. If I go to the hdirect directory and type "make boot" followed by "make" the same problem occurs. I am using ghc 4.08.2 under Windows NT4 with the latest Cygwin setup. Is "_imp___timezone_dll" a Haskell DLL, a missing Mingw lib, or some kind of foot and mouth virus passed from the pure Scottish air to Australia's unseasonally warm shores via cvs? I've put the GHC dists in ftp://www.haskell.org/pub/ghc, you should be able to download them from there. I don't know if it'll work with HP-UX 11.0, it was built on 10.20 with gcc 2.7.2.1. Also, gcc 2.95.2 is known not to work with GHC on HP-UX at the moment. Cheers, Simon

I would like to download the GHC binaries to our HP 9000 machine (HP-UX 11.0), but have access only to ftp (i.e., no Web browser is available). Does anyone know what ftp address to use? Also, does anyone know whether the GHC binaries for the HP-UX operating system will work on HP-UX 11.0?
