Hi Tobias,
GHC has too many mutually recursive modules to be useful, otherwise it would be great! But I will look more into the other compilers, are they written in Haskell?, thanks for the suggestion!
The Helium compiler is 28000 lines of Haskell code; however, many of those lines are generated from attribute grammars ( http://www.cs.uu.nl/~arthurb/ag.html ) and do not really look like human written code.
