Plotutils' functionality is included in a library. You can easily write an FFI wrapper for that. But I agree that a native module would be better... On the other hand, Octave uses Gnuplot for interactive purposes, too (and I also did in a smaller project). The CVS Gnuplot also has mouse support, which makes it even more usable this way. I don't know an example, though. Feri.
