Try using small modules and qualified names.

    module Illumination where
    data Illumination = Dark | Light

    module Weight where
    data Weight = Heavy | Light

    module UseBoth where
    import Illumination
    import Weight
    easyToCarry = (Illumination.Light, Weight.Light)
